When they came to us, they had a validated idea and an early MVP but no design foundation for national growth. SOLO set out to build Romania's first digital accounting platform, simplifying tax and accounting for independent professionals through a fully automated web and mobile experience. When they came to us, they had a validated idea and an early MVP but no design foundation for national growth. The product needed to handle complex accounting workflows, comply with evolving Romanian tax regulations, and still feel simple for non-technical users.
Strategy
We approached SOLO as a long-term partner, not a project vendor. We worked directly with their founders, investors, marketing team, product managers, and IT team, running a process that accommodated their entire organization across multiple design tasks simultaneously. We mapped user audiences, defined product structure, and created a roadmap that could evolve alongside both the business and Romania's constantly changing legal requirements.

SOLO had an existing brand identity when we started. Our role was to carry that identity forward, extending it consistently throughout the new website, the product interface, and every customer touchpoint. Along the way we also added new brand elements to strengthen the visual system, ensuring it held up across 500+ screens, 30+ website pages, marketing materials, investor decks, and social media.
Website
We designed a 30+ page marketing website that served as SOLO's primary acquisition channel. The site communicated a complex product simply, built trust with independent professionals skeptical of digital tax tools, and evolved constantly over three years as new features launched and the market expanded.
Product
The core of the partnership. Over 500 screens across web and mobile covering onboarding, dashboards, tax filing, invoicing, expense tracking, and reporting. The product evolved constantly. Every time Romanian tax regulations changed, we redesigned the affected flows to keep the platform compliant and intuitive. We built a scalable design system that supported rapid iteration without breaking consistency.
Development
We did not handle the development directly. SOLO had their own IT team building the platform. What we did was collaborate with them closely throughout the three years, reviewing flows together, ensuring the implementation matched the design intent, and updating the product frequently based on real user feedback. The relationship between design and development was continuous, not a handoff.
Outcome
SOLO grew from an early MVP to Romania's leading digital accounting platform, serving over 13,000 businesses and generating $3M+ in annual revenue. The partnership lasted over three years. We were their design team for everything: product, website, brand extensions, investor materials, social media, print. Every design need the company had ran through us.
